Candidate forum scheduled; early voting opens

The Concerned Citizens Group of Hartwell is sponsoring a candidate forum at the Hart County Library on Tuesday, Oct. 19.

The meeting at 6 p.m. will be the public’s opportunity to meet the 11 candidates running for City of Hartwell elected positions.

All candidates and residents are invited to participate and voice concerns and talk about issues.

The Sun previously reported Hill was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and obstruction of an officer on Sept. 7, 2020. On Oct. 7 in the superior court, the district attorney decided not to pursue the charges, a nolle prosequi, resulting in the charges being dropped.

Advance voting began Oct. 12 and continues through Oct. 29 on weekdays and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Absentees ballots are available from the Board of Elections and Registration Office. The absentee ballot drop boxes are located at the advance voting locations during the advance voting hours.

In Hart County, the absentee ballots may be delivered in person with a valid ID during the regular business hours at the Board of Elections Office at 182 Cade St., Ste. B.
