As spring sports wrap up, another fantastic athletic season comes to an end for all of the teams that compete over at Hart County High School. Many great moments happened out on the courts or fields, but maybe you didn’t get to see it.

My good friend and colleague, Trey Stewart, who is the sports reporter and editor over at The Greer Citizen in Greer, S.C., does a phenomenal job at reporting on the multitude of high schools in his area. There are a lot of things that Trey does well, but one thing that he does best is his consistent updates of scores and capturing moments on his social media. Over the years, I have seen the lack of consistent coverage of what our student athletes at Hart County are accomplishing, and a lot of times, most people don’t find out a score to a game until after The Hartwell Sun comes out. Well, that is about to change.

Beginning today, I want to encourage you to not only follow The Hartwell Sun on X (@TheHartwellSun) but also to follow me on X (@benjilondonmsc) as well. With these two accounts, we plan to provide the best sports coverage of all things Hart County athletics. You may be asking, why use X (or Twitter) as the tool for this coverage? For many years Twitter or X has been the leading source to everything in the sports world. Not only do we want to be able to promote all of the hard work that our student athletes are putting in on and off the field, we want to be the leading provider to all things Hart County athletics. From previews, to inside scoops, to player and coaches’ reactions, we will have you covered.  We will begin by bringing you inside coverage beginning with Hart County High School football’s spring practice that kicks off today and continue the coverage during the 2024 and 2025 athletic year.
