Mrs. Mattie Ruth Baxter Christian, 71, of Danielsville, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at her home.
Born on July 1, 1949 in Colbert, Ga., she was the daughter of the late William Doyle Baxter and Lizzie Toole Baxter. Mrs. Christian was a retired Home Healthcare Aide, and was a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three daughters: Johnnie Marie Evans of Danielsville, Debbie Christian of Florida, and Sandra Thompson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers: James Baxter of Nicholson, Ga. and Frank Baxter of Ila, Ga.; three sisters: Geraldean Davis of Hull, Ga., Rebecca Gearing of Danielsville Ga., and Leann Huff of Florida; 10 grandchildren: Carissa Patman, Curtis Wilson, Jenna Fitzpatrick, Krista Fitzpatrick, Anna Melton, Holly Melton, Will Melton, Zack Evans, Hannah Evans, Savannah Melton; and several great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Christian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. Christian and a brother, Johnny Baxter.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, at the Flat Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Cory Pulliam and Rev. Robert Burt officiating.
