Mrs. Virginia Brown Welborn Majeski, 89, of Cade Street, Hartwell, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at Hart Care Center.
Born July 3, 1930 in Hartwell, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Byrd C. Brown and Edna Gunter Brown. Mrs. Majeski was a graduate of Hartwell High School, Class of 1948, attended Perry Business School and was listed in the Book of Outstanding Young Women of America in 1965.  Mrs. Majeski formerly worked at Monroe Auto Equipment Company and retired from the Savannah Valley Egg Company. Mrs. Majeski was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church, former member of the Choir, Happy Harts and WMU and worked with the children and youth for more than 50 years. Mrs. Majeski joined the Nancy Hart Chapter #398, Order of the Eastern Star in 1956 and has served as Worthy Matron 13 times and had served as a District #24 Past Grand Chapter Representative to the State of Missouri.
Survivors include two granddaughters: Stephanie and Vince Hill and Shari and Fernande Ovalle; a great-grandchild, Kristina Grace Hill and her caregivers: Jene Davis, Sue Floyd and Carol Messer. Mrs. Majeski was preceded in death by her husbands: Harold P. Welborn and Garland L. Majeski; two brothers: R. L. Brown and Cranfill Brown and five sisters: Anne Holt, Ophelia Peek, Ruby Barger, Daisy Vickery and Barbara Dickson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 10, at the Sardis Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Vincent and Mrs. Angie Vickery Rowland officiating. Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with Eastern Star rites.
