Two charged after seizure of 40 lbs. of marijuana, guns

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests on Tuesday Jan. 17 following a drug sting, in which 40 pounds of “high quality” marijuana was seized along with multiple firearms, $11,000 in cash and a “Jail Break Hell Cat” Dodge Challenger with a market value of approximately $100,000.

Sheriff Mike Cleveland said his investigators and Georgia Bureau of Investigations agents conducted a search warrant Tuesday at 655 Ridge Road in Hart County, where they “recovered a trafficking amount of marijuana as well as cash and a handgun.”

A day later, investigators carried out a search at another location “associated with the same individual”, where law enforcement seized “an additional trafficking amount of marijuana, cash and another weapon.” Cleveland added that two semi-automatic weapons were recovered.

Bryson De’Mone Jordan Jr., 25, was charged with trafficking marijuana (felony), tampering with evidence (misdemeanor), possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (felony), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (felony), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (felony).

Diamond Alilse Scott, 21, was also arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana (felony), tampering with evidence (misdemeanor), possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (felony) and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (felony).
